Language changes and evolves over time. Words need to be added or coined to keep up with the times.

For example, 40 years ago we probably didn't need words like email, cyberspace, and google (verb), and "virtual" had a much smaller meaning.

We do not need to invent any more numbers. The known universe is described just fine with the ones we have.

I think we need new words to describe new concepts. We are constantly inundated with new slangs like "ginormous," but we really have no need for another word that means "big." New words should describe new ideas, inventions, processes.

Plutoed, for instance. Or truthiness. Or Bushism.

Do you know why computer notation went from decimal to octal, to hexadecimal?

The issue was and is numbers.
