I think England did a terrible thing with their Palestine Mandate.
No way should any sliver of this territory been given to immigrants. There should only ever have been one state, with full equal rights for all citizens regardless of religion.

1. The formation of Israel is moot: they are there and the Jews will NOT be removed. They are a democratic country in an area where none exist.
2. The Palestinian people deserve a homeland. It can be said many were forced from Israel and relocated and their lands taken from them.
3. Their homeland and Israel MUST be in different areas. Realistically speaking, there can be no accommodation between these two groups. The hatred runs deep.
4. The oil rich Saudis should be providing more input and providing land and not just rhetoric and weapons to the Palestinians. Arabs often look at the Palestinians as people to do their dirty work - in this case, attacking Israel.
5. The phrase "peace process' should be stricken from the English language. There will be no peace in that area. Think of the multitudes of agreements, accords, whatever that lay discarded.
6. Israel is in serious difficulty if Iran gets the bomb. The current Iranian leadership seems to be the type of folks who would use it to attack Israel.
7. The USA must continue to support Israel. Loss of this ally would be catastrophic not only to us but to the entire Middle East. Jordan would soon fall, Egypt also. Lebanon would become a Syrian vassal state again.
Just my thoughts.

Lets start from the beggining. The Jews had always been in Palestine from thousands of years, but were displaced into Europe. In the mid 1800s, they started coming back. People say that they displaced Palestenians, but that is not true. All in all, Benny Morris, a historian who is extremely ANTI-ISRAEL has said only about 7000 palestenians were displaced by this, much less than numbers shown.
The Palesteninas could have had peace 3 times, in 1937, in which they were given a majority of the land, in 1948 when the were given a majority of the ARABLE land, and in 2000, when the would have had a contrgious Gaza and West Bank. Israel has accepted all 3 times. Prince Bandar has blamed all deaths since 2000 in the area on Arafat who he called a liar, and said it was a crime against the Palestenians that he didnt accept it.
The Arabs have created the refugee problem, and noted by an Anti-Israel Palestenian in the PA (cant remember his name).
As far as human rights goes, Israel is the only nation in the Mid. East that banned torture, and abides by rule of law in times of war. The supreme court is one ofthe best in the world, and is very strict against the army and civilian casualties. Also, Israel has the lowest ratio of Palestenian civilian causalties to theres in the world. People have to understand that the suicide bombers and terrorist hide among the people, causing civilian casualties, and the death counts are distorted.
Israel has been FAR from perfect, and I do support a Palestenian state and a Jewish one. But if there is going to be peace, its up to the Palestenians.

May be a lot could be accomplished towards peace if both sides were to forget religious bias and treat the matter from an efficient down to earth standpoint. Both the Palestinians and Israeli have, or should have, our unconditional sympathy.

I'm pro-palestinian, but I'm NOT anti-Israeli either. If that makes sense. They deserve a state.

If their Arab brothers loved Palestinian Arabs so much, why not welcome them?
