you posted this is the wrong area. economic and ecology are 2 sperate things...but heres what i know

usually the further from the equator you are, the cooler it is. the closer it is is usually hotter and dryer, that is why usually deserts appear from 35 degrees N to 35 Degrees south, and the further away you go the wetter and colder you get. this is due to how strongly the sun hits the earth (most direct at the middle, and least further away)

finally moutains sides are also diffrent. in the northern hemisphere on the south side of mountains it is usally warmer and dryer than the north side of the mountain beacause it is facing the equator, and on the southern hemisphere it is the direct opposite. so mainly these factors contribute to climates, that creates deserts, artics, and other mircroclimates...

the higher the ground the colder, what's east of mountains or high places are usually wet, how close the ocean is, o ya and the equator...my answer's no help atall is it?
