Is there a way in Microsoft word to automatically count the number of times you use a certain word or phrase?

If not, are there other ways of accomplishing this? Thanks!

Go to the Edit menu and select replace.

Type your word identically in both the Find and Replace boxes. Type a space before and after each*.

Click Replace all. No changes will be made to your document.

A diologue box will say "Word has finished searching the document made X replacements."

*Without a space, if you are searching for "the", Word will count "other", etc.
