I like to read about Longstreet's assault on Cemetery Ridge, July 3, 1863 near a small country crossroads in southern Pennsylvania. The assault was carried out by 3 Rebel divisions under Pettigrew, Trimble and Pickett (mostly Virginians). The valor, courage and doomed cause kept my interest in that event in history.

This is so strange...I read you question and was going to say World War ll and the Holocaust...Really. I have read the Anne Frank story and seen the movies and read several stories about her on the Internet...I find that whole time period very interesting and frightening.

I am ridiculously fascinated with the stories behind presidential assassinations. Not conspiracy theories, actually factual information about the assassins, the time period, the law of the time, etc. For example, did you know that Charlie Guiteau, the man who assassinated President Garfield, was the first person to use insanity as a not-guilty plea?

The Women's Rights Movement. Scarily enough a lot of movements were happening at that time of history including a huge civil rights movement but the feminists interest me more. Like the bra burnings and all that jazz.

John F. Kennedy's presidency. I can't watch enough television programs or read enough books about it. I am drawn to every aspect of it: Cuban Missile Crisis, Jackie's renovation of the White House and her style, Bay of Pigs, the assasination, the funeral...it all intrigues me.
