The living body is constantly feeding its cells and rebuilding itself. When a body dies, the cells no longer get fed, and they break down and die (because they need things like fats and proteins to keep working). That means the body starts to degrade.

Any living organisms deteriorate after it dies. The reason why is because of bacterica and other decomposers eat the dead organisms and recycles the nutrients back ion the the environment. If this does not happen, we would run out of resources vital to all living things needs to survive.

The blood flowing through their veins, the fresh oxygen coming into their body.... when all of that stops, all the bad stuff doesn't get flushed out and it starts eating away at the body
