I am a large lady. I've been to Disney World twice, and both times I was about 270. Smaller than yourself, but no runway model, either. I had no difficulty with any ride at Disney World. The main ones that might present a difficulty would be the bigger thrill rides like Tower of Terror. Most of the rides at Disney World are more, say, family-oriented. They go for quality of presentation more than just thrills, so the big thrill-rides requiring restrictive safety apparatus are rare. The few they do have I had no trouble with myself.
There is also so much more to do at Disney World than thrill rides, I am sure you will have a fabulous time either way.
(Yes, the plane ride is a pain, but of limited duration and worth it.)
Speaking as a heavy woman... Disney World is truly my favorite place on earth. Have a great time.
Edit: I just remembered talking with a friend, who is a very big man, well over six feet tall and quite overweight. He has made several trips to Disneyland and said he had no difficulty.

I wanted to just give an update for anyone who may be searching this same subject as I did a few months ago ( summer 2014). I am 6'0" and 360 f with a large belly. We recently visited the magic kingdom and we had a wonderful time. I figured since I spent so much on the tickets I was going to take my chances and go on all the rides. If I didn't fit well at least I tried rite. Ok so here is the rundown. 1st ride Buz Lightyear I went with my 6 year old and I fit with extra room and I was so happy I yelled "I fit" lol. Next was the cars you drive again with my 6 year old and I fit!! The tea cups were tight but it still worked with the two of us. Space mt I rode the last seat just fine. Thunder mt and splash mt I rode alone and fit. Pirates and small world was me my husband and two kids to one row, the Mansion , little mermaid, jungle Cruise, and Alladins carpets were good too. The new mine train fit but very snug. They didn't let me ride alone so my 6 year old was with but was ok.

It depends on the ride. You might find some trouble on some of them. I suppose your best bet would be to speak to the ride attendant. You are not only dealing with your size but possibly with a weight limit as well.
As for the plane, I've heard stories where large people have had to purchase 2 seats in order to accomodate themselves. First class seats are larger but are you willing to pay for the upgrade?

I wish you luck cuz I know how sad it is to not be able to ride the rides, but I'm talking about local fairs. Maybe its possible some rides you can ride, if you call Disney and ask which ones. I think the train is OK, for example.
