Real Madrid have been knocked out by Bayern Munich with the scoreline 2 - 1 and that's mean the aggregate was 4 - 4.Bayern marched on to the next round by the away goal.
In sport (particularly soccer), a two-legged match is a match-up between two clubs or nations that lasts over two individual games. Typically, these are used in knockout cup competitions. The team who progresses is the one with the better aggregate score, which refers to the sum of scorelines from the two games. For example, if two teams are playing each other in a two-legged match, and the first result is 1-1 and the second is 2-1, then the aggregate scoreline will be 3-2. If the aggregate score is tied, then away goals may come into consideration. If away goals are equal, or are not considered, then extra time and possibly a penalty shootout will occur.
In typical two-legged matches, each team will play one game (known as a 'leg') at 'home' as a way to resolve who is the strongest of the two teams without giving only one of the teams a home field advantage. However, most managers and players feel that the team playing at home for the second leg has a slight advantage over the other team. Nevertheless, it has been popular in international football tournaments, such as those club competitions run by UEFA (e.g the UEFA Cup) or in play-off qualification games for the FIFA World Cup.

an aggregate scores are the scores accumulated from the two matches played by the two same teams. for instance, here's the results of the 2006-2007 UEFA Champions' League knock-out stage:
20.02.2007 - Real Madrid CF 3-2 Bayern Munich
07.03.2007 - Bayern Munich 2-1 Real Madrid CF
the total aggregate above scores is 4-4 & Bayern Munich qualified to the quarter-finals on away goals rule.

Aggregate is the total number of goals scored. In this case, the total number of goals in two matches, one away and one home.
1st Leg
Real Madrid 3-2 Bayern Munich
2nd Leg
Bayern Munich 2-1 Real Madrid
Aggregate
Bayern Munich 4-4 Real Madrid
Since they are tied, the team that progresses is decided on away goals.
Away goals
Bayern Munich 2-1 Real Madrid
So, Bayern Munich advances on away goals.

Madrid won at home 2 weeks ago, 3-2.
Bayern won tonight in Munich, 2-1.
On aggregate, the teams tied 4-4.
But because Bayern score more away goals, they get to advance.
Crazy rule, I know.

The aggregate score is the total number of goals, including those scored in the first leg. Their first leg match was played in Spain (Madrid's home) and Bayern scored two goals. This means Bayern have two away goals.
So, should the match end in a draw, overall (aggregate score) - the winner is decided on the number of away goals scored. In this case Bayern has the advantage, unless Madrid scores twice they don't stand a chance.

It means that Real scored 3 goals and Bayern scored 2 last game. Now that Bayern has scored it is equell at 3 - 3. If it stays that way then Bayern wins because the first leg was in Spain and they scored 2 goals (away goals).

From the first knockout stage until the semi-finals, Champions League ties are played over two matches, or legs.
In the first game one team will be in their own stadium, whilst the other are visitors.
In the return fixture, the team who played at their own ground previously will then visit the other.
The scores from the two games are added together to give an aggregate score. In the case of the scores being tied, the team who scored the most goals away will be the winner.
If both teams scored the same number of goals away from home then the match is decided by a penalty shoot-out.
