there is nooo way that you should be going on pointe without ever taking a real ballet class
its extremely dangerous and it can really mess your feet up for lifef
my advice is enroll in lessons, get proper training and technique, and work your way up to pointwork
goood luck

first of all, i would like 2 recommend trying 2 find someone 2 teach you. if u try to dance on pointe 4 the first time w/out a teacher, you might try something 2 hard or hurt yourself. second of all, go 2 a dance supply store and get pointe shoes (they have square toes. btw, correcting a former answer, the toe-end of the shoe, called the "box", is made of cloth and very strong glue that can withstand a lot of weight). im warning u that pointe shoes r expensive, tho! some of them are almost $100. also get some1 in the store 2 help u find your fit, and MAKE SURE U GET TOEPADS!!! good luck!

As a dancer, I know that 6 months is definatley WAY too early to start pointe. I mean i'm 12 and have been dancing since I was 2 and my dance teacher insists I wait 1 more year. You need special shoes called pointe shoes and at my dance studio they only allow 30 minutes at a time wearing them, so maybe you should think about enrolling in your local dance school? I know someone who does take pointe and even 30 minutes at a time, her toes are noticably in bad condition. Please do not try to do pointe by yourself- it may become very dangerous.

Well, the first thing you need is a pair of pointe shoes. But if you've only been doing it for 6 months and teaching it to yourself, chances are that you're not ready. I would really seek professional help because you can really injure yourself. Also, you will probably develope very very bad habbits by accident. I have them and I dance in a studio. You really need a teacher there to instruct you and to see what you don't see. It's much harder to correct bad habbits than to learn it correctly the first time, and then you might loose your will to dance. You are at the age when you can start pointe, but I wouldn't by yourself.

First of all, you need special shoes (pointe shoes) and you should have the proper training. No good ballet studio would allow you to start dancing en pointe with only 6 months of training. It can be dangerous and you could do serious harm to your feet and ankles.

dancing on your toes is called pointe lol! but ne way i have been dancing since i was 3 and am 15 now and just got on pointe 2 years ago! you really shouldn't teach it to yourself cause if you don't know how to stand on them right you could hurt yoursef! if you really want to be a ballerina go get some lessons and learn how to do it righT! good luck! and like the girl above me said pointe isn't as FUN as it looks it hurts like heck and gives you ugly feet!

The only way that you can learn to dance on your toes or dance on "pointe" is by taking a beginning pointe class. Pointe is unlike any other discapline. If it is not done properly you can injure yourself big time.

Nothing beats the real school or an actual ballet dancer. Why don't you go to the local library and get books on ballet?

Ballerinas use special shoes with wood in the toe so they can balance. If you`d like you should be able to buy those special shoes on eBay. You can get anything there! :) But that is how they do it. Hope It helps!
