Walking is good exercise and is helpful to loose weight. However running burns more calories and should be more helpful to loosing weight. I just hate to run.

I read that muscle burns more calories even when you are not doing anything. That's great but I do not do any weight training.

My favorites for exercise are biking and belly dancing!

Not entirely- you will loose weight fast walking and it’s better that running but neither one of those will build muscle- you would need to do weight training for that. And yes, since muscle weights more than fat, it may seem like you are not loosing, but you should be getting slimmer and more defined. If you want to just walk, add resistance (on the treadmill up the incline, or walk uphill- this will burn more calories.)

No. but what is really important is sticking with it. I lost 20 lbs by walking and watching my diet in about 4 months. And remember, its good to have muscle because it speeds up your metabolism which helps with weight loss.

i don't know if that is true, but i do know that walking helps flatten your stomach and make your legs/thighs thiner
