I'm with the others, i tend not to reply to obvious homework questions. There was one the other night that killed me...it was "Read this article and sum it up in 5 or 6 sentences"...i mean come on, i cant believe these kids are THAT lazy...

i know i only use it for when i dont understand something...I come and ask because some people give really great answers explaining how to do the problems. Some ppl do use it just so they dont have to do their homework, but what do you care?
its their butt thats gonna be on the line when come test time, they dont know what the heck to do.
i know that if i have the answer to a problem, i can tell if i did it right or what i did wrong...what wrong steps i took, etc.
yea when someone asks for u to write a paragraph on a certain article or something really specific...then i just ignore it.
i mean, why the HECK should i write your own homework assignment! stop being lazy and do it urself.
i think the math/science questions for homework are more acceptable than others.

When it is obvious, I don't reply. But, if I sense that there is a lack of fundamental understanding, I will work it through just to show the pattern, the approach, the fundamentals. In that way I can be a tutor and not a cheat sheet. And too many in this forum are just homework. "If a ball weighing ... falls at a speed....". Man, that is so obvious.

I won't give the answer, but I will give the logic.
Sometimes kids are just confused by the question or lack a simple piece of information that connects the dots for them.
But yeah, I agree totally, when they are so lazy as to ask you to read an article and write their homework for them ... go do it yourself and I'll discuss your answers, otherwise pee off.

kids are going to get it from somewhere, either here, wikipedia, or from a buddy at school. Giving the kids the answers wont help them in the long run but i say its their problem to figure out. Survival of the fittest.

Yes, I feel a bit bad about it, which is why I try not to offer complete solutions unless I'm explaining it as I go (usually in math).

Like Brian L & ZORCH, I try not to answer but give some understanding of a basic principle, if I understand it. :)

Well they may like it but they arent practicing the things they learned in class, which they probabally didn't listen to in class, so you are making them fail their test.
DONT DO IT
