"The Bell Jar" (obviously based on the book) was first made into a movie in 1979 and starred Marilyn Hassett and Anne Bancroft. A remake is currently in pre-production and slated to be released in 2008, but there's very little information about the movie itself at this time. "Sylvia," starring Gwyneth Paltrow, is based on Plath's life and is also a very good, if really sad, film.

perhaps's Slvia Plath's life has been told before. "The Bell Jar" is a collection of her later poems edited by her ex- husband, a British poet who's most famous poem is "The Hawk" . The literary consensus is that she had the poetic sensibility. ..in roghness of expression compared to Emily Dickenson--and there she stands. so, her life again told what is new, except for Gwenth Paltrow, who I hope delivers a better movie than Nicole Kidman's treatment of Virginia Wolf. Both are great actesses, but script, i guess not quality. But is Virginia Wolf a poet?? and who is her siter, is she related to the Bell-Jars,
