i have a few questions please help me if you can.

1. If you were an African American or a wom en during this period of time, do you think that these men would have considered your intereset? these men are the committe of five. and Why

2. What are some grievances form the Declaration of Indepence and what are some comprises that would both make the king and the colonist happy?

Accordingly on June 11th Committee of Five was chosen with Thomas Jefferson of Virginia picked unanimously as its first member. Congress also chose John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, Robert R. Livingston, and Roger Sherman.

Adams was vehemently anti-slavery; Franklin formed the first slavery abolition society in the US. Livingston was from NY; Sherman was from Connecticut. Jefferson was the only southerner, and only slave holder. Despite this, he wrote a damning statement against the slave trade in the original draft of the Declaration -- it was removed after demands from the Carolina delegates.

I think that Jefferson did consider the interests of African Americans and women, but his talk was better than his actions.

As to the grievances, they are listed right there. Just read the Declaration, especially the middle part.
