Have you been not doing your homework because you don't want to or because you don't understand it? If it is the first one, then I recommend you find some motivation to do well such as buying yourself a small gift after you do all your homework for a week. If this is not in your budget then do something different such as telling yourself that you will have a better future if you do well in school (which is true!) Do homework with a friend if you want but be careful not to get distracted.
If it is the second one, find yourself a tutor so you will able to understand your homework more. Some colleges (such as the one I go to) has free tutoring so you might want to try there. Good for you for wanting to work harder. Build up good study habits such as studying without inferference and using memorizing techniques for tests or quizzes you have coming up. Use good things such as hanging out with friends as a reward, not as an escape from homework. And... although this can be hard... try not to procrastinate. It feels much better to not have to rush at the end of a project or assignment (and it looks better too!)
Good luck!

do you know why you fell off track. The answer to that question may help you solve the problem of getting back on track.

I think you are already getting back on track just by acknowledging that you want to do better. For me it always worked best to get the homework done first that I hated because once I got through that the rest was a breeze. also work on one subject at a time and take a quick 5 minutes in between then get right back in there again. Fresh air always helped too. Just a small crack so you don't freeze to death will get your brain cells moving. As a teacher I would suggest not getting caught up on something that you are stuck on. Skip it. Most homework is designed to see what you understood and learned that day in class. If you don't understand ask tomorrow.

I hope this helps and remember you are already on the right track just by wanting to do better.

the first step to getting back on track is really admitting that you need to get back on track.
I think that the next step is to get a tutor, an adult, your classmate, or upperclassman.. Talk to your guidance counselor or a teacher and I'm sure that they can help you find one. Or you can ask your teachers if they are willing to give you review sessions to help you get back on track.
Once you do understand the material, try to be more organized and focused. As soon as you get home, immediately go straight to a room without any distractions: no tv, radio, computer, or food (unless you're really hungry.) Eliminating distractions will prevent you from getting lazy and procrastinating.

But overall, you should definitely think about your goal whenever you feel like slacking off. You want better grades. You want to do well in school.

Good luck! ;D

oh this happened to me when i was a junior in highschool! i didn't realize the importance of this until i was deep in trouble. i failed pre-calc. If its math that yo're havingtrouble with....you need to ask for help immidiatly. If you feelcomfortable with your teacher ask for their help. if not look for student tutors. post an ad on a community college bulletin board...trust me there's a lot of students out there that need those extra bucks.

if its engish or history, go home and take a nap. lol. no seriously it honestly helps if you clear your mind and start fresh. then start writting (if its a paper that' due) dont scratch out or think its too stupid, just keep going. even if its BS all the way just do it...eventually you'll reach a point where something in what you'e writting will click. If its reading...sparknotes will help you catch up. history....its easiest to use an outlne from your history bookso you get the big picture of what's going on.

science (bio, physics, chem) ask your friends or teacher....really...you either get it or you dont. and also if you can get a tutor....college students wil do it for $20 the hour or as long as you need.

search sparknotes.com

it really helps too!

Just start doing it! Just start doing homework tonight. And if you are behind, ask your teacher for some help catching up. If you are sincere in your desire to get better, your teacher will gladly help! :-)
