My fiance drove her Sebring for about 5 months with way too much fluid in her transmission. As a result the car went into a safemode that kept it in 2nd gear at all times and put a box over every gear on the the dash. At first the transmission would work fine most of the time, but would downshift you into 2nd even at very high speeds. However, it eventually became a problem that happened everytime we started it up, and we eventually realized that it had more than twice the highest hot limit even when the car was completely cold. I have syphoned the fluid down, but we are still having the problem with it staying in 2nd (even after resetting the battery numerous times). I really dont know what else to do, please advise if possible. Thanks.

Have the Trans controller scanned for faults. You may have a faulty sensor or be in need of an overhaul.

This appears like the idle velocity motor and throttle physique is somewhat grimy. With those you may spray in a purifier (a multipurpose purifier) (brake purifier) and scrub with a the tooth brush interior the t-physique and the throttle plate.
