Avg would be mid to high 5's. middle school kids havent developed the bodies fully in middle school. that usual does happen til HS sometimes Col. As you grow and develop more into a man you'll also see your times lower. Key to a 40 time in endurance. if your blessed with speed your always going to have it. your not always going to have endurance in which you should work on. the 40 is a straight out sprint in which you for sure need speed and quickness but without the endurance for the first and last 20 your time is just going to be okay. middle school is just above sayyyy pop warner, how many of those kids you think can actually run any 4sec time in the 40?

around 5. but don't worry too much about middle school first off. middle school is a time to really just learn the game, and get conforable in positions, that is why middle school football was created for.
besides a 40 time for a running back is not as important as your reaction time or your acceleration (you will hardly ever run 40 in a single play). 40 times are usually important for WRs and DBs.
