First of all, if you want to bottle feed, then do, do not let people try to pressure you into something that you can't or do not want to do. I couldn't breast feed any of my children for medical reasons and they are healthy and amazing children. I started with about 12 bottles since I had a dishwasher. I would have more if you don't, just in case you get behind on the dishes. I also bought the Avent bottles, they are a little more expensive, but the best form my experience. Don't worry about buying the little 4 oz bottles and then buying more later. The Avents are fairly small and a little fatter than most, so they arn't as large. I just went straight to the 8 oz, that way Ididn't have to buy two sets. Good luck. Oh one after thought, whatever bottle you choose, try to stick with that same brand and type. That way all the nipples and rings fit all the bottles, there is nothing more discouraging then having to try to match nipples and rings to a bottle at 2AM while you baby is crying because he is hungry.

Your baby will have 7-8 bottles of Formula in a 24hr period. Then you might need 2 extra bottles incase you need to give your baby cooled boiled water for bringing up their wind.
I bought 12 bottles as they came in sets of 6 then checked out the teats and bought them and threw out the one's that came with the bottles as they are normally the wrong size hole to begin with.

if you are strapped for cash like most new parents I would say get enough for a 24 hour period. For example, my daughter drinks about 7 bottles a day, so we have 7 bottles. Otherwise, get as many as your heart desires. But remember, once you make the bottle, the formula in it is only good for so long. Good luck

8-10 bottles but keep in mind your baby may not like the first bottle you give him or her. My daugher didnt like the first set we bought a bunch of so I ended up having to go out and buy her something else. What a waste. And dont even bother with the small 4 oz bottles you only can use then for like a 2mo and then they are too small.

I would say that about 10 bottles is good. I use both Dr. Brown's and Playtex. The Playtex are nice because you don't have to wash inside the bottle - the liners are disposable.

the perfect bottle is the only your toddler likes the perfect. with somewhat of luck it is a reliable yet low priced variety lol! there is not any set 'perfect' variety, something is going with bottles yet at the moment its perfect to attempt to get BPA loose ones. So something it truly is BPA loose is effective! I used all kinds of bottles, I beloved the wideneck ones the perfect (any variety) yet my SIL's midwife at the moment informed her they don't look as reliable for newborns because the tall skinny type of bottles. i could only attempt to breastfeed this toddler first of all and in no way trouble about bottles until eventually it is going to develop into needed. the individuals i understand who had bottles waiting before toddler became born were a lot less likely to breastfeed for any era of time as their mind-set wasn't set on breastfeeding, they continuously had bottle feeding interior the front of their ideas as their 'damage out route'. (no longer that there is something incorrect with bottle feeding in case you won't be able to breastfeed!) It type of set them up for failure in case you recognize what I advise, quite than only perservering with the breastfeeding using the undeniable fact that became the in reality issue that they had reachable to feed their toddler. With the fingers on advice accessible with a lactation representative and so a lot more suitable understand-how on the concern being allotted through many kinds alongside with breastfeeding training on the medical institution, le leche legue, breastfeeding institutions you are able to manage to discover the help you want to breastfeed your toddler. be particular to apply regardless of the truth meaning needed before you supply up, it continuously takes time to get the carry close of it and it will be something so elementary as nipple shields that assist you breastfeed effectively this time round. reliable luck

whateever you do, don't buy too many of the smaller (4 oz) bottles. My baby needed a bigger one by 3 months.
(I mainly breastfeed, so I'm not sure on the quantity)
Wish you the best with your new baby!

5 or 6 nice ones that you like...
In a few months, go through and see which ones need to be replaced or upgraded. if you get too many it will just encourage you to not wash them right away, and they will cludder your kitchen
