he is fine! Your Dr. should not say that is too much--that is wrong of him. Please do not under feed your baby right now. This is such an important growing time in your babies life! All children are different. Babies are born all different sizes, & grow at different sizes. there is no concern until a child, not a baby, is at a certain age do you question if he/she too big. Aty that point you consider healthy food choices & fun activities to stimulate exercise. BUT your baby is 3months! My son was 10lbs at birth, he was 21lbs at 3months! My Dr. never said he was fat--just a big baby, off the charts for height & weight! He is now 6 & tall as can be & a bag of bones. Healthy eater, but boney! So as you see no need to worry.

ENJOY YOUR BABY! CHERISH EACH DAY. NEVER THINK HE IS EATING TOO LITTLE OR TOO MUCH. BABIES KNOW WHEN TO STOP EATING(theyre not like us, ha!)THEY EAT WHEN THEY NEED IT & WHEN THEY DON'T! HE IS A GROWING HEALTHY BABY!

maybe consider changing your Dr. if you feel this is a problem.
You cant really go by charts, all are created differently. At some point they all catch up to 1 another.

Well for me that sounds tiny lol Both my boys weighed over 10lbs at birth so at 3 months I think my youngest was already a little over 16lbs. His doctor told me he was so far off the charts he didn't even register lol. Your baby sounds like a perfectly healthy boy so try not to worry about it to much.

Mine was 6#9oz at birth and is now about 12 1/2# at 11 weeks. They should gain about half a pound a week. That is perfectly normal.

Your doc would hate me then.

My 3-month old son weighs 19 lbs now ! He was 9lbs 2oz at birth.

My older son weighed about 18lbs at 3 months (he was 7lbs 8oz at birth).
My daughter weighed about 16.5 lbs at 3 months (she was 8lbs 12oz).

All the kids were exclusively breastfed at that point.

Really, it depends on your child. Weight is only a number. Is your child healthy ? Alert ? Growing ? Meeting milestones ? If so - I would not worry about the numbers.

How active is your child? Does the child just lay and tend to not stretch arms and feet? This is a sign that the child is too well fed. Allowing 1- 2 hours more between feedings will cause restlessness and promote the development of motor skills.

If the moment your child start to cry, whimper you put a bottle in her/his mouth you will impede the development of the child and cause over weight problems. Your child can last from breakfast to lunch without eating, but you can't stand the noise. Being aware that your child is hungry is good, feeding just to shut up the child is bad.

Mine was about 12 lbs - He's 4 months and about 15 lbs now.

Here's a growth chart to see where he falls % wise. I'm not sure I'd worry too much about it, the important thing is that he's healthy.

I have a 3 month old and he weighs about that. Babies are supposed to be chubby and healthy. They're babies. [People] Should not be "dieting" children. They are not fully formed and are growing. Feed your son when he is hungry. He knows what's best for him.

Eh.. he's a little on the big side... but he is only 3 months. It's not like you can make him exercise and go on a diet.
