Why are there mostly Grey Silhouettes Here rather than Avatars?

I am just curious and I want to Know! It is a striking difference than other categories. Any reasons? Too Busy? Seems stupid? No Insults Please!

because all of the avatars are retarded cartoon characters.

also, most people who come to the science section do so for homework help, and aren't really interested in the whole yahoo-answers thing...
