My best friend is a great person, and my children love her! I asked her to be my kid's godmother and she accepted!! My mom met my friend and my mom hates her. How do I tell my mom without her and I getting into a fight!

It is your choice and not your mother's. Just tell her that you have decided to make soandso the godmother and that is that. If your mother cannot respect your choice then exclude her from the christening. Of course this will deepen the rift and your mom will have unfounded ammunition to use against your friend. If your mom is one of the woe is me mom's then you are in for years of quibbling over pointless things because she see herself as the only one to make your choices and live your life. That is a shame. I can't stand women like that.
