I'ts never a good idea to send cash throught the mail. a money order is always the best bet, as it can be tracked and is much safer. If an envelope with staight cash in it goes missing you're kind of hooped, it to can be tracked but there's no way of proving how much or what was actually in it. With money orders there's always a record.

Careful that you are not being scammed. No one should ever send cash in the mail.
The person should send an international money order. There is no reason for any bank to "take a large percentage." The only fee involved should be the purchase of the money order.

Do you know this person??? If not, entering into any type of monetary exchange will more than likely leave you poorer. If they bought something from you why don't you have them send you the money via paypal?

If you do know them, I'm not sure why the individual cannot initiate a wire transfer from his/her bank to yours. Or why can't they send you a certified check insured via the mail or fedex? Western Union has an entire business based on wire transfers.

If this is somebody that emailed you, snail mailed you, or messaged you in some way and then out of the blue wanted to do this. Its a scam! If you are selling something and they offered to over pay you in anyway for any reason even to mail the rest of the money back to them, to their cushion, aunt uncle, etc. , to there shipper or anything like that it is a scam! Think about it like this is this something you would have a need to do if it were you sending the money?

NO.

Scam.

If it's your friend - a wire transfer costs maybe $25. Otherwise, have her send a check. NEVER send cash through the mail.

Only if you personally know the people sending it to you or know that they owe you money for whatever reason. Otherwise I'd wonder why they're trying to send you money to begin with.
