My OB schedules c-sections for 39 weeks gestation. I had a c-section at 37 weeks due to pre-eclampsia and that is term. You do not want to go any earlier than term for your baby's sake and again the c-section was only done at 37 weeks because of complications. I know that you are anxious to deliver already-the last days of pregnancy are rough but hang in there for your little one. Good luck.

Yes, but they wont do it before 37 weeks with a singleton. Because the baby isnt fully developed yet!!! Good Luck!!! I have a c-sec scheduled for 3-29 and I will be 36 and 5 days. But I am also pregnant with twins and my Dr told me I probably wont even make it another week!!!

Both my kids was delivered c-section. and most docs schedule them at 38 weeks because then you are sure that the baby will be developed enough to handle being outside the womb. I know the last few weeks seem endless, but its all worth it in the end.
keep your self busy, walk around the mall, do baby stuff, read, anything to keep your mind off of it.

40 weeks is full term. If you have the baby early health problems can occur. Your best bet is to wait until at least 39 weeks.

No, you can not ask your doctor to deliver your baby early. All babies must be born full term. Most babies are born early because something is wrong with them or the mother is stress.

Why would you "know" you are going to have a c-section? Is this your 2nd? Just curious. If you have the option, I'd opt not to have one... they hurt!! I have had 2, not by choice. The earliest they'd take you is @ 38 weeks, like the others have said. If you know you are having a c-section and haven't scheduled it yet, call your OB to set it up.

I'm not sure about where you live, but where I live if you are scheduled for a c-section they usually take you 2 weeks early anyway. Good luck and Congrats! You'll be holding your son/daughter soon!

you could ask, but they'll probably won't do it until your at least 38 weeks... I think thats considered full term.. I know that 40 weeks for sure is. Good luck with your new baby!!!

well you can ask your doctor anything. the worst he/she could tell you is no...right? however, i would think that delivering your baby five weeks ahead of schedule is not a vrey good idea. there are probably still things developing in your child. however, i'm not a doctor so all you can do is ask! good luck and congratulations!

well your baby still developing in the last weeks and the lungs are working hard to get ready for the big day but i don't recommend doing it early because of just that my baby was delivered via c-sec and we we apart for 24 hours because the lungs had fluid due to not coming through the birth canal (well i had them wheel me to him every 4 hour but it wasn't easy i just had surgery .but good luck to you try to be patient its worth it and give baby every min he needs to get strong this life is tough enough
