This is going to sound really wierd but lately, I have nightmares about demons and being haunted. I have dreams within dreams. I haven't watched horror movies or anything else that might cause nightmares/bad dreams. I wake up, relize where i am and sstill dont feel any better. Then I go back to sleep and have another or the same dream. I wake up from that one. Last night the only thing i did different was imagine a white lightaround myself, protcting myself from any harmand closed the bedroom door. Then the nightmare stopped. This totally ha me freaked out. There are other things that happen occasionally that freak me out to, but i usually chalk them up to just my imagination and go on, but I swear to God I see things move out of the corner of my eye, going through my dark hallway at night and the floor boards creaking outside my bedroom when i have the door closed as though someone is walking across the bad spot. My son also seems to have bad dreams occasionally and.....

As a Wiccan, I do not believe in demons, that is a Christian invention the scare people into obedience. Life and all that is, is made up of energy. Negative energy is what I believe it is. Especially when you imagined the white light and they went away. using white light is a Wicca practice of using Goddess energy to get rid of negative energy. You can surround yourself in this white light every night before sleeping. I also suggest you get some sage if possible an cleanse your living area,. If you cannot find sage, just go around your area and imagine the white light cleansing the negative energy from your home. Try burning a candle and incense during the day. Black candles can absorb the negative energy.

Since your son is having these dreams as well, something is definitely going on. Kudos on the white light technique. I would suggest cleansing your house, and sprinkling salt (preferably sea salt) around all the beds in the apartment.

A cleansing on the house also needs to be done. I've added some links for various techniques. You can alter these to suit you best.

I'm not sure if you've tried this yet, but try speaking to the spirits. Ask is anyone is there, and what they want. I recommend having a lit candle beside you, as it going out suddenly could be a sign.

There are lots of little things you can to cleanse the house. I suggest trying a few different techniques, and if you're still be bothered, call a professional, or a leader of your religious preference.

As I'm not sure exactly what the dream comprised of, there is a chance that the spirit is not angry or harmful, and this is simply its way of communicating. Perhaps your body perceives them oddly. If you still have questions, feel free to contact me. With more information, I could tell you more.
Best of luck!

Since these experiences/encounters are happening to both you and your son I'd suggest having your apartment blessed or cleansed. It's a fairly simply procedure and usually effective. During the nightmare muster your courage and smile or laugh at whatever is scaring you. If it's only a dream the energy of the smile will dissipate the scariness. If it's something more, smiling or laughing will show them they have no power over you and they apt to leave. Teach your son to do the same. Surrounding yourself in white light is good too but adding the laughter would make it stronger. You can also call out for divine assistance and it will be received. The most important thing is to know their power exists in your fear. If you can change the fear, it'll most likely be the end of the nightmares. (and the creaking floor boards)

The thing that bothers me about your situation is that your son is having them too. I really don't know what to suggest other than maybe try go get to the bottom of it. Call TAPS or find an organization like them to investigate. One way or the other, you may get an answer.

Another possible explanation, have your plugs, and apt tested for electromagnetic fields. I did an experiment a couple of years ago, when there is an increased electromagnetic field, subject feel anxiety, nauseous, even hallucinate. Now with you living in government housing, and it being an old building (before 1960) there is a good chance that something may be awry. An electrician (even your super) can come to your home with a device to measure the electromagnetic field in your home.

Our beliefs are more powerful then we can imagine, even when you don't think you have certain beliefs about things like ghosts, demons, etc... At an unconscious level we do, and we fear the unknown. What you believe in your sub conscious mind can manifest as a reality if you allow it.
So you have two options at this point, continue to believe you are protected, and you will be or convince yourself once and for all that these things do not exist.
There is also something called 'sleep paralysis' that can cause hallucinations that become a psychosis of fear...Read more about it>

Man, all that is pretty wild. Are you taking any medications or eating a lot of food before bed time? Caffeine or alcohol? Maybe you just really have a vivid imagination. I don't know.

I've heard of people who have actually lived in bona fide haunted houses and the ghosts who haunt them are sort of in limbo between this life and the next yet can't seem to let go of their existence in this world. Maybe you should talk to a clergyman or woman about these thing and go from there. Good luck.

Hauntings/demons/gods are all in the mind.
Dreams are poorly understood, but ALL mammals have them.
Try drinking no coffee or tea after 14:00, give yourself time to relax before you sleep, & remember, it's only a dream. Write them down when you wake up, this may help to get them in perspective, )& may be a source of income from a movie-maker or writer). I had a repeating nightmare for 4 years when I was in my early 20s, but it stopped. If your building is sick, you may be suffering from fungal reactions (airborne spoors).

Reality is much more than what we see everyday. When we sleep we are in touch with much more reality. The thing to know is that there is nothing that can hurt you. You can control anything that is going on in your dreams, you found that out with that light that you manifested. You are safe and should never be scared. If you see something scary (that you believe is scary) tell it to change into something that doesn't scare you. It is all based on what you BELIEVE and you are in total control at all times. You just forget that most of the time.

Hello, i dont really know the answer to your question but its likely to be dreams. As for your sons nightmares too, a child can easily pick up when somethings wrong with their mum, and even though im sure you haven't told your son about these dreams he will still beable to sence your fear. This ofcourse will make him wary at bedtime. Also you need to think about night terrors. I dont know how old your son is but he maybe at the age where children are scared of the dark. (Adults can be too). Children believe theres someone or something under their bed when the light goes out etc.

MY ADVICE TO YOU.

I dont know if you believe in this sort of stuff but if you have an open mind im sure your be willing to try anything. I used to have alot of bad dreams, scarey dreams too. Buy yourself and your son a DreamCatcher. Hang this at the the end of your bed where your head lays. Place it central to the bed. Dreamscatchers are an accient Indian symbol and they are used to catch bad dreams and evil spirits. Its said that while you dream it catches the bad spirits/dreams and holds them in its web and allows good dreams and spirits to pass through it. I have a dreamcatcher above my head when i sleep.
ALSO, buy yourself an Amethyst Crystal. You can either place this under your pillow while you sleep or keep it on your bedside cabnet (if you have one). Amethyst aid sweet dreams. I also have this too.
LASTLY
Will your son beable to sleep with a nightlight on? This can aid children to feel so much more relaxed at night as they aren't in total darkness. For you take a bath before bed, Get yourself some Lavender oil and burn it in your room just before bed.

Its very important to try and clear your mind of ANY bad thoughts before you sleep. If there are any floating around in your mind as you drift to sleep your subconious will pick up on these and create bad dreams.

Just say a little prayer(i dunno if you're christian, but it doesn't matter a prayer is a prayer no matter who or what it is you're praying to)

I would suggest that you place positive images in your mind (think happy thoughts) Keep in mind also that before you go to sleep that you do have control over your dreams and that you don't have to experience it.

Btw is there anything stressful in your life, because this can cause dreams such as this.

I know it isn't fun having nightmares, but if you believe in your heart and mind that you can overcome it you'll be fine.
