The world's longest animal ever found was a Lineus Longissimus which washed upon the shore of Scotland in the late 1800's
Better known as the Ribbon Worm, it measure 180 feet in length, beating out the longest Dinosaur and the Blue Whale for the title.

As far as terrestrial earthworms are concerned, the title goes to the rather appropriately named "Giant East Gippsland Earthworm" found on the east coast of the Australian State of Victoria. These buggers can grow up to 80 centimetres in length and are, quite frankly, scary!! hehe...you can almost hear them tunneling through the earth! I've been lucky enough to see one too....
"The Giant Gippsland Earthworm (Megascolides australis McCoy) is one of the largest earthworms in the world, with an estimated average length of 80 cm and a diameter of 2 cm. It has 300 to 500 body segments. The front third of the body (including the head) is dark purple and the remainder is a pinkish-grey."
