No. It is only grounds for dismissal.

Entrapment is a way out of a crime, trying to ruin someones life is not the same. Example of Entrapment: You go out with some Friends to a club down town. Some undercover cop comes up to you and asks you to buy some drugs, you say OK, and you get arrested. You can claim entrapment if all 3 conditions are true: 1. No prior convictions for that crime (drugs) 2. You were not out looking for drugs 3. They approached you.

You ask this question but do not give any details on Entrapment. Do you mean kidnapping or refusing some one to leaving and holding them against their will? Do you hide their clothes and make sure they are locked up in a room? If you are doing this then it is a Federal Crime, because you are taking away their basic right of Freedom, and other STATUES OF LAW MAY APPLE IN THIS ALSO.

Entrapment only pertains to a law enforcement officer entrapping a citizen. If they do the case will be dismissed.
Civilians busting someone that is crooked is perfectly legal as long as they are not doing a black mail.

I hate this entrapment b.s
on cops they use entrapment all the time.
This guy pretends to be a male prostitute and trys to get men off the street to pay him for sex. Then they arrest him. You''d think they'd have better things to do with their time.
anyways i dont understand entrapment, because on that show they use it all the time.

Yes of course its illegal, and if you have your wording right and you try to entrap someone thats many charges. Its like ordering a killing the killer only gets half the prison sentence of the person ordering it. If youre trying to ruin someones life you should burn in hell....If someones doing it to you let them burn in hell but go to the police and report it they may try to set you up or do something to you

YES IT IS!!!
Read up on Ruby Ridge. The Feds paid millions to get Randy Weaver to go away, after they murdered his family. It was a perfect example of Federal Agents using entrapment.

entrapment is an affirmativedefense that a defendant can raise as a defense. this means that you have to raise it to be considered. basically the defendant is saying that he should not be guilty of the crime because the government (i.e. police officers) instigated the defendants conduct. in most cases you have to prove that you were not predisposed to conmmit the crime.

Entrapment itself is not a crime. But it is reason to not convict
Entrapment is when a person is induced to do something under drummed up circumstances that they would not normally do except for those circumstances.

No, entrapment is just something that is not allowed to obtain evidence. If entrapment is proven, the evidence collected is considered invalid.

Nope. If you break the law to do it though, yes. If you blackmail someone, for example, that is against the law. What evil scheme are you hatching? If you tape someone without their knowledge, yes, that is illegal. If you, say, have an attractive woman hit on him, get his number, call his wife, say, hi, I got your husbands number and all hell breaks loose, was a crime committed?
