I am serious thinking about becoming a LPN. It will cost me 8,000 for one year of community college. Is it worth it? My friend told me yes, because i will earn twice that in one years salary.
What do you all think?

well, getting certified as a LPN is a good thing,,,,, but,,,,,, where do you live and why would you have to pay that much? if you live in the US, you should,,,,

the very first step, is to fill out the Federal Financial Aid application at

http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/

there are grants to cover most all of tution and books, unless you have a very high income

still 8,000 dollars at community college sounds very high, are you certain about that?
also, check out a vocational school in your area,, they would also offer specialized training and certification in this

I go to school with alot of nursing students, going to get their RN. Many of them are already LPNs. I wonder if maybe you should just go for your RN. Most LPN's make about 15-16 an hour. While RN's make about 22 an hour to start, for only 1 extra year of school. Don't think, oh I'll get my LPN, and go the extra year later, as many LPNs have to start over for the RN classes. Good Luck!
