murder for the 1979 slayings of 4 people. While on death row he became a cause celebre for the Hollywood elites and other liberals, they wanted Gov. Schwarzenegger to pardon him. He didn't.
Here's my question: Why is it that the very same people who wanted a pardon for a vicious killer go spastic at the thought of Bush pardoning Scooter Libby?

MoltarRocks: It is true, they wanted clemency for Williams. Though the terms are different, the principle remains the same.
Mercy for a vicious convicted killer, none for Libby.

I'm a liberal, and I wish I could select which facts I presented to the public as well as you.

After his conviction in 1981, Williams at first refused to help the police investigate members of the gang that he created. In the mid 1990s however, he began writing about gang behavior and participated in youth programs to help prevent kids from turning to gangs to solve their problems, even publishing a few childrens' books while on death row and participating in helping to end a gang-war between the Blood and the Crips in 2004. Pres. Bush himself commended Williams for his anti-gang activism.

Libby, on the other hand, continues to insist that the discrepancies in his testimonies are due to a poor memory, while plausible, is improbable. If Libby writes a few books on lying or becomes an activist to discourage children for behaving the way he did, then there might be a comparison.

I'm not saying that Williams deserved to be pardoned (I don't believe he did) or that he deserved to be executed (I believe he did); he may indeed have sincerely changed his views and become a more humane person. But I am saying that there is a huge difference between the cases of Williams and Libby (both pre- and post- incarceration).

I understand that it requires effort, but try getting a few facts straight next time and investigating the entire story, not just what you decide you want people to hear.

Tookie Williams is rightly worm food today despite most liberals objections. He became one of their many poster boys. The deranged liberal mind equates Scooter Libbys non crime to the wonton murders commited by Tookie.

I don't know, maybe. He was a changed man, but he did form the Crips. I don't care what anybody says I don't support the blood/crip gangbanging bullshit. To many people have died because of it. Plus it's got all these white kids thinking they're bloods and crips which is just plain sad.

The same reason Conservatives state Clinton was protecting criminals, but don't find a problem with Bush, yet he is doing the same thing. It's called hypocracy all around.

By the way, Bush stated those who committed the crime should be punished. Shouldn't "Scooter" Libby pay for his crime as Bush stated he should, or does that just apply only to Democrats?

Ok, so the same liberals for the pardon of Williams don't want Libby pardoned?

How the eff do you know that? Who? Name them. I dare you.

Note: I was not for the pardon of Williams and I don't give a rats azz what happens to Libby. And #b I am not a liberal.

Because Libby is white and tookie was black. Funny how limo liberals will not get within 500 feet of blacks unless it is the hired help, yet want us to have criminals for neighbors.

There is no valid comparison here as Scooter Libby is not facing the death penalty. Nobody wanted Williams released from prison; the protesters disagreed with the idea of state-sanctioned murder.

Anyone who can't see the major differences between these two cases is clearly lacking in critical-thinking skills.

Are you sure it was a pardon for Tookie? I thought it was just a stay of execution.

Tookie was a girl scout compared to Muhammad.

I don't think they wanted a pardon for Tookie. They wanted him to not be executed. Besides, not all of us who lean left advocated for that. I didn't and I live in California. I think this may be an apples and oranges argument.
