Sweetie, you are in high school-people are going to find a reason to make you "stand out" about any and everything! LOL So just enjoy the fact that you are different. When you are older, you will see that many people LOVE the fact that you have an accent. Besides, why do you want to be like everybody else? You are already unique because you are YOU, the accent is just a plus!

don't feel insecure about your accent. all types of people speak differently and that makes them all unique. regardless of whether you were to do anything about your accent or not, the kids at school would still find something to nitpick and ostracise you about. don't let it bother you, just be yourself and if people don't like it, screw them. highschool is only a few years, the rest of your life is forever, and you will find a whole different world outside of highschool where your worth as a person isn't based solely on the way you talk and whether you wear the lastest trends or not. some of the hottest models and celebrities have accents that are less than flattering to some, but are unique, and don't take away from who they are. seen the latest victoria's secret commercials?

Don't be insecure!...A person with an accent is so different and special...Hell alot of people go crazy for a person with an accent. Just continue to practice your english by over enunciating. Get tapes or cds that teach english...I'm sure you are able to speak it but get them for the purpose of hearing how they say words...and kind of mock them...in time it will help..

you did not say what type or kind of accent you have
I know if you have a southern accent and your up north, guys will follow you anywhere and do anything you want too
and it differs in different parts of the country, but usually guys love girls with accents, start taking a survey and I bet I am right
no not every guy but more than 50 percent, and that's a lot
JUST BE YOURSELF, be yourself always in life, do not ever let anyone change who you are, no matter what...you will be better of being YOU!
good luck

Quit worrying about it! Everyone in high school feels insecure about something or another. Maybe their height, their hair color, their glasses, their race, their shoe size or who knows what. Just be yourself, enjoy life and people won't even notice your accent. Believe me, it's the truth.

Sometimes, accents are considered exotic. It's what makes you a person and an individual. Don't try to hide it because it might go waway naturally on its own. Instead, try to make your accent more understandable by practicing words and reading aloud, and correcting any slang pronunciations.

Love yourself for who you are. Think about it as being unique. Some people might see it as being ashamed of your culture if you tried to hide it. Besides every one has an accent if you think about it.

you shouldn't be ashame. its a gift given to you. all that matters is whats in your head and heart. i've been through that too and i live through it. all you really have to do is concentrate on that school work and talk with proudness and confidence. having an accents isn't that bad, sometimes its even cute. i have friends who talk with an accent too, and sometime we do joke around but hey, i love them with who they are. that accents is part of our life and i dont aspect them to change it, be yourself is all im trying to say. be proud of your ethnic. :D!
