if your handicapped aunt has her mind then you can warn her of the possibilities of abuse and of neglect and at the first experience (and of course subsequent ones, also) to (a) write down in detail asap after the incident what happened (b) if the abuse is physical or sexual, call you or another able-bodied relative and get to see her doctor at once, to create evidence. Legally, evidence that you want is the kind that shows that your "sociopath" aunt is not a fit carer. There must be a decent prospect that neglect in small cumulative acts like not wiping up the sh*t or slowness in changing the handicapped aunt's dirty clothes will stack up against the sociopath even if there are no dramatic incidents.

Also I imagine you have seen to it that your 40 yr old aunt has a few nos to ring in any emergency.

is you feel your aunt is in any danger then you NEED to step in now! if she is handling it ok and your aunt is safe with her and doing ok then not much you can do. a sociopath does not even realize that they are one! hard to deal with. i hope it goes well for your family.

Revenge is not the answer. I feel extreme anger from your writing and this is not good for you. You are allowing this person to control you and how you feel. Move on and do what is right for you. This person will eventually have to face the choices she has made because "what goes around comes around."
