No, at age 15 they will not legally allow you to sign a waiver of rights. If something happens to you while having the procedure they do not want to be held liable. Therefore they need a guardians signature for consent.

Yes you can have the abortion without parental consent. I had an abortion at 15 here in California and did not need parental consent. As far as I know the laws have not changed. You will however need someone to drive you to and from the procedure.

You should also explore your options before you decide on abortion. It is a very painful experience, physically and emotionally, so you should fully weigh your options before you decide, and possibly consider adoption.

Also, whether you have the abortion or not, you need to consider birth control options so that you don't get yourself into another difficult situation. Ask the people at the clinic about birth control pills. You should use birth control pills and condoms, just to be safe and to protect you from STD's.

There was some talk of a parental notification law but I don't believe it passed. Call your local Planned Parenthood for more information. 1-800-230-PLAN.

Edited to add: While you can obtain an abortion without your parents consent in California at 15, you will still be subject to their statutory laws. They will more than likely ask you about the relationship that created the pregnancy and the age of the participants. If your situation is one of statutory rape, they will have no other choice but to call the police who will investigate the matter.

Not sure. Does anyone know if proposition 85 passed last November. I know it was about this situation. Funny, you can't give a kid an asprin at school without a parent filling out ten thousand forms, but a kid can get an abortion without telling their parents? Crazy.

Edited to add: I just found an article saying the proposition was defeated, so I assume the answer is yes. Is it right? I don't think so. You're still a child and your parents should be the ones to make medical decisions for you.

There are many more abortion clinics in california and they way i found them was by going to http://www.abortion.com and clicking on the state of calcifornia then it shows all the clinics there and i did not see one that even required an age. You would have to call them and ask for yourself.

So if were you-go to another state and see planned parenthood.
Enlisiting a trusted family member to help with the mission is a good idea to help cover your tracks and offer moral support. Seek counseling and prayer- planned parenthood can assist with this as well. Cuz after the abortion u'll want it. It can be emotionally draining.

I can understand why they want to lie to you but that is what they are doing. Call planned parenthood. They give out contraceptives, give abortions to girls as young as 13.
With out the parents knowing anything about it. I know from first hand experience. Unless it has changed drastically in the last 5 years. I know a girl who got one. When her parents found out they were horrified. Your best bet is to tell your parents.

I hope not. A 15 year old is a child and has no business having sex in the first place. And for a dr. to be able to do a dangerous procedure on a CHILD and not have parents consent sounds illegal anyway.
