I was about a stone over weight at the time, but it wasn't planned,i was 10 days over due,the first time was difficult but that was because i had twins, the second i had a 9 and half pounder and 3rd 8 and a half. Was i worried, sort of,but you knows, what goes up has to come down, the pain won't last for ever and its that sort of pain that you tend to forget fairly quickly. That was 30 years ago, things have changed a lot since then,so if you are pregnant every thing will be OK,if you are trying the best of luck,oh one other thing, if you are over weight try to put your feet up in the afternoon and rest,it will make life easier, and if it is your first and if you can go to the classes that teach you about breathing during birth they are really helpful.

Well, I have 2 kids, and one on the way. I am a little bit over weight, but not too bad. When I got married, I was underweight ( I weighed under 90 pounds and I'm 4'11"). About 2 years after I got married, I started to gain weight. A few years later, I found out I had a thyroid problem. I was put on thyroid medication, and it has helped.
This is my 6th pregnancy, but only our 3rd child. I have had 2 miscarriages and a still birth. None can be attributed to my weight, but you never know. I was told that I couldn't get pregnant after we lost our son, and that we would have to have medical intervention to get pregnant again. At this point, I was probably about 20 pounds over weight. I started eating better, exercising and lost about 15 pounds. Within six months, I was pregnant with our daughter. After I had her, I was 10 pounds under my pre-pregnancy weight. Six months later, I found out I was pregnant again. When I had that baby (another girl) I was 5 pounds above what I was after my last baby, and that was with gaining 15 pounds during my pregnancy. With this one, I'm heavier then I was with the other 2, but I'm hoping to drop that weight after the baby.
I will always be nervous about birth. You never know what will happen during labor and delivery. And since I know so much about how it all works, I worry about every little thing all the time. Sometimes not knowing much about the process is a good thing!!
