it's not so much that they match, it's that they compliment each other nicely. Black is a neutral, so you can pair it with anything, whether it is another dark shade or a lighter shade. Keep in mind, if you are wearing a dark tone on dark tone, such as dark green with black, add one color that goes well with the green as a punch of color. A lavender cardigan, or even a great structured jacket in a lighter jewel tone version of green (emeralds). Jewelry is another way to dress up an dark tone on dark tone. It also depends on how you are wearing it. Is the dark green on bottom or is the black. What is the style of the green, is a matte (think velvet) or shiny (think satin). A nice dark, forest green shirt (sweatshirt, T-shirt, however) and black jeans or khakis are very nice, just be sure to wear black shoes with it or maybe brown. You don't want to contrast your colors too much, keep it in one even tone.

absolutely not. black does go with MOST colors, but not with dark green. something like that would look horrible. light colored things go excellent with dark clothes.
p.s. for future reference, navy and most shades of brown do not go with black either.

Consider where you'll wear this.
If it is in a well-lit area, it'll look good.
If the place is dim or dark, it might appear that the two colors are slightly faded.

No. Black DOES NOT GO WITH EVERYTHING!!!! you want a lighter color with the black. A sky blue or a lighter green.

yea, but it depends on what it is and how u wear it, but i always like to wear bright colors with black, like a bright green blouse with a black skirt. but yea.
