If young men want 'respect' why not form vigilantee groups to take out muggers instead of joining mugger gangs, dealing crack picking fights over nothing?
If they want real respect how about joining organisistions to take down human trafficers, or fighting in Afganistan aginst evil taleban woemn abusers?
or joining the coast guard etc

Erm fighint the taliban who stone girls to death simply for walking out the house aint exactly soft.
neither is air sea rescue.
Much harder then duffing up old ladies and kids 10 to one you have guns and they are half your size... nuf respect NOT

people in gangs are normally not that nice to do good deeds. and if you one day DO tell a criminal that, i'm sure you'll walk away with a black eye.
if i had my way, i'd hang the lot of them.

The scum who go around demanding respect and severely injuring or killing people who "diss" them do not have the intelligence to grasp that respect is earned and not demanded with menaces.The imbeciles who injure anyone who does not show "respect" ,when they are caught should be birched, I would be happy to birch those pond life and then an APPROPRIATE custodial sentence of many years handed down to them. So what if the prisons are full? If the Wankers of the labour government really did represent the wishes of the people who voted them into office, they would clear these cro-magnons off our streets, build more, many more prisons , employ many more prison officers and provide suitable sentences in court which would make these brain dead twats think twice on embarking on sprees of recreational violence and vandalism. Yet again, though, we the silent people of britain have to put up with the inactivity of our prime minister. A massive prison building program could easily be funded by NOT buying an ICBM system that we do NOT need and do NOT want, Mr. Blair.

That is one of the best questions that I have read on this site. I thought that I was alone until you asked.
The reason that they cannot do that is because our Law Enforcement Agencies...don't like them.
In some ways I am a "Redneck". I believe what they believe: The love of Family, Country, and Freedom".
I like the idea of a Vigilante group. It could be done very secretively....instant justice. Similar to the movie "Death Wish".

I think this idea would eventually work out. If you think about it, most people in gang locals are afraid to go out at night because of fear that they may be confronted by gang members or mugged or shot or raped.
This is because those very gang members know they have this power to instill fear in other. But what if that changed. What if we flipped the script and began instilling this very fear into gang members. If there was a serial gang member killer out there, I'm pretty sure a lot of gang members would start thinking twice about the lifestyle they are living, for fear of being killed for no apparent reason. ironic ain't it

Good question.
Problem is: Bad guys will make it their work to fight these groups and more blood will be shed.
We live in a sick world. More money should be spend on education and police services than wars and space ships!
Yes, vote for governments that can promise peace in a God loving environment.

Young men who join gangs are not into helping others they care about them self,the gang,money,drugs,women and having a good time,gangbangin,and sometimes there family.As for them joining the military,army,ETC! many do but then you have people here and other places crying over gangs in the military,but I don't see them stepping up to serve & protect .

I ve been on the vigilante side for quite some time. the problem is that the police don't see it that way.
You can become a "community support officer" easy enough . but unfortunately most of your time will be spent issuing fixed penalty notices to cars . whilst real crime is brushed aside.

most of these youger people don't realise that there is more to life than being a participant in crime and criminal activity i think that vigilantee groups are a bad idea altough the thought of them joining the army mite make so of them decent people and respected members of society
