That is a very difficult question since you would have to define terrorism and mental illness. However, the Israelis, who have a LONG history of experience with terrorists, have done numerous psychological studies to see if there is a connection by giving captured terrorists personality tests. I saw an Israeli psychologist interviewed on TV, and he said that thus far they could not find any connection. However, they were testing Palestinians. Whether it would be any different for another group, I wouldn't know. Take that for what you think it is worth.

No, The French resistance wasn't mental ,although they were
terrorists to the Germans. There is not much of a distinction between terrorism and guerrilla warfare, which the SAS are leading the field at. I think people have to make up their own mind and not listen to the ruling bodies.

Generally no, terrorism has been used as an effective tool of warfare (whatever the scale) since the beginnings of war itself.
Although in the case of George W. Bush who claims that God told him to do it, we cannot fully discount the possibility of a dangerous psychiatric condition!
Religious delusions are often a sign of schizophrenia.

Has to be?
In the Biblical sense.No doubt.
The Creator made an image of (the creator),the man.
It was only the creator and the man.The man was in a garden.
The creator ,decided to make a womam, for the man?(why).
Then the creator throws both out of the garden.
Because the woman ?corrupts the man!!??.
The creator made them both,in his image.
Why are both the created, images, painted with belly-buttons?.In paintings?.
Of course there is a link,we do not know who we are.
There is help.
Read the law of Hammarubbah(i have spelt it wrong;I know).
He was the first? ruler to lay down" moral laws"for people.

there is not any reliable study evidence of a correlation between bipolar disease and "getting faith" contained in the middle years. A bipolar disease is an affective disease (e.g., significant mood swings) and is no longer usually linked with a concept disease or delusions until eventually one occurs to be experiencing a manic state or severe melancholy (even then no longer inevitably). those with schizophrenia, schizo-affective disease, and a number of you larger severe personality issues (e.g., schizoid, borderline, schizotypal) could have a concept disease, delusions, and auditory hallucinations. each now and then (yet no longer each and each of the time), their idiosyncratic beliefs have solid religious institutions. the first "psychotic damage" many times takes position contained in the overdue kids to early 1920s. apparently, there's a body of analysis which exhibits a good looking good association between psychological well being and a experience of spirituality or faith. the genuine DSM IV "acid-try" is about the consequences. Does it inhibit or compromise social/vocational/interpersonal functioning in some significant way? If no longer, it does no longer be seen pathological. In different words, there is no longer something inherently pathological about the bright concept that you met an angel. the talk to even if you and thousands of thousands of theistic "others" are deluding yourselves or no longer, will likely in no way be thoroughly settled. it truly is a lot more suitable positive to concentration on your aspect of functioning and in no way be too stuck up in labels like "bipolar" it truly is often over clinically determined and lets no longer flow overboard with the concept of "magical questioning". A concept in a vist from an angel isn't sufficient to qualify. (that is comming from an atheistic-leaning agnostic). Plus, all of us have a aspect of magical questioning. reliable luck!

Some terrorists may well have mental problems
Others simply believe the cause is worth dying for and they have my respect for being that commited even if I don't agree with the cause.

who never get dirty hands but have sick perverted neo beliefs
as your respondants have explained the actual brain washed are clever enough to be fooled ,not clever enough to look for proofs
thier masters are idiot savants , mentaly deficient in breeds with neo maniac messianic tendancies [deficiencies]

Apparently not!
There were psychological papers written about the 19 involved on 911 and all were found to be not only completely sane and rational, they were all of above average intelligence as well.

NO! Terrorism is Islamic Extremists who want to force their so call religion on everyone and if you do not summit
they will murder you. It states that in the Quran.
When in reality these groups have perverted their own faith. They lie to the suicide bombers to create violence
& chaos even to their own people!
