Ignore the first two answers above directing you to visit websites to obtain your IP address, those sites will give you the externally facing IP address of your router, not the internal network IP address of your actual machine you need for playing across your own network. To find your internal IP address:

- Click Start, then Run...
- Type "cmd" (without the quotes) then click OK.
- Type "ipconfig" (without the quotes) and hit enter on the keyboard.
- Amongst the information that'll be displayed is your internal IP address (helpfully labelled "IP Address").

1) If your PC is connected directly to the Internet (no router, just a cable modem from your provider):
- From MS-DOS, type:
ipconfig /all

2) If using a router, go to your router configuration page (generally http:/192.168.1.1) and view the status page.

If working with a router, you may need to identify which ports AOE III uses and ensure that they are forwarded to the correct PC on your network.
