I have been on strattera for awhile to help me concentrate in school.
it has gotten to the point where when i take it i feel extremely angry for some reason with a strong hunger for attacking other people. It makes me feel like going on a murderous rampage.. when i don't take it i feel so tired that i cannot do anything in school and i am also very irritable from withdrawal.
What should i do?

its like im damned if i do and im damned if i don't.

It must feel awful for you at this time.
Please go to see your Dr. or another Doc if the one you have isn't listening to you, and ask to have your meds changed.
No medicine should make you feel as you do now. You need to be seen right away!
Don't worry if there are no meds that suit you as a treatment for ADD/ADHD. There are many behavioral methods that a good therapist can help you find.
Good luck.

Only a professional in the medical field has the authority to address your concerns of which are very complex and concerning. I would advise you to see your specialist in this field and ask about the other treatments available. I also suggest you list any other treatments you may be on whether they are chemical or herbal as they can interact with each other. Your doseage may be incorrect as well. Everyone responds/reacts differently. Have you had a full examination as to why you suffer extreme tiredness, eg: for iron levels to cronic fatigue? My young son is on Strattera, there is a lot of helpful info on the web, although I haven't come across your particular problem. If you aren't getting anywhere with your medical advisor seek another specialist in this field. Remember it is your call, you don't have to live with these side effects. Take care, do your research through the right channels, (Effelex has a lot of praise for improved concentration), and all the best for the future.

withdrawal goes away. that seems like the best option, to stop. it's like quitting smoking. people are irritable for the first couple weeks after that too.

my brother was on ritalin for a while and they changed it to adderall so he wouldn't have to take it every 4 hours, and he lied. seriously it made him lie ALL THE TIME. big stuff, little stuff, everything he said was a lie. so they went back to ritalin, and he's fine now.
