types of modified stems are crowns, offshoots, stolons, spurs, tunicate bulbs, scaly bulbs, corms, rhizomes, tubers and tuberous roots. on the choices you gave there are two that aren't mentioned, thorn and tracheid. thorn is a sharp outgrowth from a stem and tracheids are elongated cells and so B & E would be my answer.
