what marketing suggestion you might have to boost the sales and credibility of the teams and players

Raise the mound and push back the fences. I know this may be an unpopular answer but when you think back to the days when baseball was a game, it was the days when small ball was played more often. People appreciated a good sac bunt or sac fly. Players hustled more. I know runs are fun to watch, but what's more exciting: A player stretching a double into a triple with one out in a tie game in the late innings, or a solo home run in a blow out affair? This isn't to say deeper outfields wouldn't keep the run totals up. I think it would make the game more competitive too and managers think harder. I'm not against the long ball, but maybe our infatuation of it over the course of the past years is why we have the steroids problem. Baseball used to be a staple. A beautiful game that had an essence to it that nothing could touch. There is no better sound then the crack of the bat on opening day and the cheers of fans as there's a bang bang steal at second. That's the beauty of the game, and that's where we have to get back to. Bring back small ball and hustle and you bring back that little jolt of excitement that makes us all feel like kids again.

Nothing:

Eleven of the 15 bottom teams in 2005 increased their payrolls in 2006.

Bud Selig says the revenue-sharing fund in 2006 was around $323 million.

Baseball industry revenue has grown from $1.2 billion in 1992 to a projected $5.5 billion in 2007.

Franchise values have also skyrocketed, with the Ted Lerner family recently paying Major League Baseball $450 million for the Washington Nationals.

Average salary in 2006 was around $3.0 million, with a minimum of $327,000. Over 400 players are earning $1 million or more.

Baseball is knee deep in money — more than enough to keep both players and owners happy.

The only thing wrong with baseball is the fan's perception of salary versus performance. I'll be getting a 3% pay-raise this year but I wish it was more like the 300%-3000% these ballplayers are getting!

I agree with rroo5
Move back the fences especially the ones in the New Yankee Stadium [ Hard to say that] to the 461' feet that Mantle and Joe D played on
Raise the mound
expand the strike zone to what it was originally intended to be
Eliminate the DH
Eliminate 1 round of playoffs
Eliminate 6 teams and 150 players . Think of it as pruning for long term baseball health reasons. The six teams ? Miami, Tampa Bay, Washington , Milwaukee Phoenix and either Minnesota or Denver
Lastly find a way to make Barry Bonds a cash offer he can't refuse so he " retires"before he breaks the record of a great ball player who didn't cheat .

1. Get rid of Barry. Don't let him break Hammerin' Hanks record this year.
2. Bring back coaches who have their players play small ball more often. Get back to the dynamics of the game.
3. Introduce a salary cap. No more 200 Million dollar teams.
4. Crack down on Steroids. Suspension for a whole season would do the trick.
5. What happened to baseball as a family event. It costs $200 or more to take the family out to the ballgame. Refreshments are rediculously expensive, and you can't even get close to the players anymore. If they eliminated huge 100 million dollar contracts and big spending we wouldn't have this problem.

U wanna know what would solve Major League Baseball's finantial problems! ill tell u what, a Cubs World Series!!! 7 games if possible with Soriano knocking the game winner! Not saying it will happen, but u know there are probably more cub fans (not die-hard, its true) than yankee fans. If u ask most people who dont follow baseball who they like, theyl prolly say the Cubs, and baseball doesnt need to attract people who are already die-hards. Oh, and getting rid of barry bonds wouldnt hurt either.

Juice balls so the balls stay flying out the park since steroids and HGH are being cracked down on. fans go 2 games 2 see homers only one out of 5 males go 2 see a 1-0 pitching duel. I pay 2 see homeruns. As far as credibilty it will take new players who under the MLB/Fedral MIcroscope put up huge numbers vs. our current veterans who all have some sort of cloud over there head for either using or abedding.

some questions that are not clean from the item. even as did the operation ensue? Had Colon signed with the Yankees on the time of the operation? became the Yankees' usual team health practitioner consulted and attentive to the technique? became there a valid rationalization for the operation to ensue contained in the D.R. and in no way contained in america? Does this operation clarify the distinction in performance by technique of Colon over his maximum modern-day performances with the White Sox and red Sox? Are the data of the operation accessible for the Yankees' usual well being care service to envision?

Baseball lost a lot of fans when they had the
strike and had no World Series. Many of these
fans will never be back.
Marketing? Maybe instead of having bat boys
they can have bat girls----Naked!!!!

Get rid of its commissioner, teams in small town suburbs, get rid of the people linked to steroids, and move fences back to get more doubles instead of homers so teams will need more than power
