I have found £30,000 in a bag in a field. I assume it's drug money but shall I keep it or hand it over. PS. I'm NOT giving it to charity.

ok i'd love to say keep it but the draw back of this is if its drugs money and any bpdy saw you or found out it was you then are you willing to deal with the consequences of keepin it. £30000 is alot to a drugs man or multi millionaire.
not hundred percent sure if the police will give it back to you especially if the money and drugs fall into the same sentence or if they could even link it and any crime, drugs or buglary or any other.
but whatever option you choose you need to be prepared for the consequences of your choices and the effects you may have on your family and friends. maybe you should ask a priest...???

ok yeah I highly doubt this is real, and even if it was thats quite an interesting question. Not only that you assume anyone with that kind of money is dealing drugs but the fact that you would honestly think you have the right to keep it. It is not your money you just happen to be there when it was. Why would you give it to charity? That's just as bad as keeping it for yourself, not only that it would be under your name, you would have the rights to tax it and it is not your money. It is involving the government therefor it would be worse then keeping it. You gotta use your mind when things like this happens, you take it to the local police department. BUT I doubt this is real anyways so do whatever you want with your non existant money.

The other answerer is right, you should take it to the police and if no-one claims it within a time period (I think its 90 days) then it is yours.
PS WHERE is this field, I might pop down there myself later on and see if there are any more of these bags lying around, I could do with 30K.

my word you are honest. to late now we all know,
and if it is drug money so will the barron,
flee the country quick before they find you,
hand it over to who, can you trust the police with 30k
nobody claims it in 6months the money is yours, if you are willing to take the chance, if its drug money they will not claim it so its yours, but can you trust anyone with it,

start your own drug runin business you sell the drugs and post cash to me yer na but 30k is lot of money im young and finding it hard to make a start in life i have a full time job but its a long way away i takes 30 mins to walk there i cant aford a car and my partner is pregnat could you send me 10 k for a car 10 k for the baby and 10 k for the wedding any change i will donate to the jesus army swear down my email is ChrisSquires1@yahoo.com

Turn it over the the local police station. If its not claimed within a certain amount of time - its suppose to go back to you. If its drug money, I doubt anyone will come looking for it at the police station!
