i always have troulble falling asleep befor 10 or so. and now i have to go to an all night party. I really wanna go and stay up the whole time. i tried to fall asleep last year at the party, but i ended up leaving around 3. how can i fall asleep during the day so i can stay up during the night. anything i can do? i wanna try and stay away from meds.

just turn your heat down a little, and cuddle up and read a book (probably a boring one is best) in dim lighting... you should fall asleep in no time!!

Excercise in the morning, tire yourself out, make sure its really dark with no disturbances. A hot drink like Horlicks will help alot, and use some form of lavender as this is soothing. You can also have a relaxing bath with lavender before, and if stil not sleepy, get comfortable in bed and read something boring until your drowsy! Dont watch telly though as background noise will disturb the quality of your sleep. Above all, dont stress about trying to get to sleep-relax!

Hot milk and cinnamon, and darken the room and try to put the temperature down. The milk and cinnamon contain high quantities of tryptophan which is a natural sedative, the darkened room reduces light excitation to your brain, and the reduced temperature encourages your deeper brain structures to slow you down and help you sleep.

run around the block or try lying down and listening to ocean sounds you can buy those kind of cd's anywhere, also you could try drinking cammomile tea that always does the trick for me.
