Who is the Phillie, and why did he choose to use his name?

Kenny Dykstra is named after Lenny Dykstra, former outfielder for the Philadelphia Phillies. The reason the writers gave Kenny that surname is because his real last name, Doane, is similar to the last name of WWE referee Jack Doan, and the writers thought the fans would get them confused or think that the two were related.

He's named after Len (Lenny) Dykstra. I just figured the name was a lame idea by one of the WWE's writers as usual.

Yeah, Lenny Dykstra. It is by far the stupidest name invention I've heard. And they've had some dumb ones. But blatantly ripping off a real person's name tops it.
