I don't think it should. First 65 teams is already a lot. It would be expanded to 128 teams, and there aren't that many teams that can win. In fact no team ranked lower than #8 has won the tournament, a #8 seed has only won once and a #7 seed has never won.
If no #16 seed has ever even won a game, whats the point of adding more teams?

no,because it can cause the grades of players to drop and their possiblity of grading will decrease. The more a team succes in the tournament the more classes they miss.

It does not need to be expanded but what about maybe having the NIT before the Tourney for Bubble teams to play themselves into the tourney instead of conference tournaments! I don't know how it would work but they could figure out some way to do because why play in your Conference against a team a third time when you could go outside and see how you fare against other conferences! They have a pre-season NIT and a NIT for teams that don't make the tourney so instead use those games for playing yourself into the tourney! You can also get rid of tournaments that happen before the season stars and just schedule more non-conference games to start the season to get more matchups between more teams! Just a thought but the tournament is perfect how it is!

The argument for expanding the field is so that more good teams get in. Instead of having bubble teams, you would see those teams get in. I don't like that idea though. I think 65 (remember there is a play in game) is enough. Many of the teams that get left out normally lose at the end of the year. They are playing themselves out of tournament. The NCAA tournament is perfect just the way it is. Everybody loves it, including people who don't pay attention all year.

I agree. It is plenty big now. It would get confusing and boring if good teams had to sort through a bunch of wannabes. Add inferior quality and it spoils the whole tournament.
