Yes, your breasts will fill up with milk for the baby and will be sore and swollen until your body realizes it doesn't need to make any more milk.
The good thing is it'll look like you have really big boobs...lol.

I just went through this in the last month. I did this very slowly. My son is 8 months old and I have enough milk stored to feed him until he is close to 1 year... ( I was lucky enough to be able to pump a ton of milk!).
I cut out one session at a time. I was pumping exclusively since my son never latched on. I was pumping every 3 hours - 6, 9, 12, 3, 6, and 9 - I did not pump during the night at all after I went back to work. I first cut out the 9 am session, then a week later the 3 pm session. I was down to 6 am, Noon, 6 pm, and 9 pm.
Then I took out one session and switched the times to 6 am, 2 pm, and before I went to bed. Took out the 2pm and then the bedtime one, and finally the morning one. I always waited a week in between. It was hard, but I never got engorged or had any pain.... Most people do not take this much time to stop, but I wanted to quit slowly. Hope this helps.....

I breastfeed my son till at last he became into 2, in case your boobs have become much less finished you will lose your milk, that's considered necessary which you would be able to at as quickly as feed your toddler so which you would be able to set up your milk, my breast have been finished and uncomfortable for 3 months earlier i regularly occurring my milk, and when I had to pump for 2 weeks, a million earlier i began out an antibiotic and a million on a similar time as i became into taking it so i did no longer lose my milk, i became into possibly an afternoon faraway from dropping it for solid. So in case you're intense approximately breastfeeding positioned away the pump till your toddler is a minimum of three months previous. Your physique is usual with the version. wish you do no longer ought to artwork applicable now and CONGRATULATIONS!!! For understanding maximum medical doctors say 6 weeks.

Yes, they will hurt. You need to work down gradually to formula feeding (can I ask why you want to stop breastfeeding?)
You can get engorged with milk.
Wrap yourself Really tight, I had to have my husband wrap me up when our infant daughter passed away, I had been pumping 6 oz every 4 hours, then went cold turkey. I do not suggest this to anyone!
Substitute one meal at a time, until you work all the way to formula. Then you should not have much discomfort at all (still wrap yourself really tight, to stop production.)

It will depend on how fast you make the transition. If you do it in a day, yes it will hurt. Your breasts will continue their normal milk production because that is what your baby was demanding. A better way to transition is slowly and a feeding at a time. Gradually introducing formula feedings will make it easier on you and your baby. Good luck!

They may hurt slightly BUT you should be switching over gradually. Babies have emotional bonding during breastfeeding and it could be traumatic for them if you stopped all at once. Breast milk is best for them, and they love feeling your warm body close to them and gazing up at your face while nursing. So you should really take weeks if not months to wean your baby.

Yes, they can. You should stop gradually to make it less painful. Your body will adjust to less feedings and start producing less milk, but it may hurt until your body adjusts. I produced so much milk that even when I gradually weaned my children, my breasts became engorged and painful. I think how much it will hurt depends on how your body reacts to the change.

I would have to say its more uncomfortable than painful. My breasts felt like they were full of rocks(pretty neat actually.) Also, they will leak for a few weeks or more. They are just a little more sensitive than normally, similar to when you have your period, I think. Good Luck

Yeah!! Mine always did. Especially because when you quit breastfeeding "they" fill up if you are not pumping them regularly. But I heard that placing cabbage on your breast(yes it sounds weird) but try it. It helps dry them up more quickly. Also...AVOID hot showers, or anything warm on your breasts, it causes them to leak (as you probably know already).
Good Luck hun!!!

No they wont as long as you gradually change. Dont just change all at once. Take it slow. For a couple of days skip one feeding, then on day 3 skip 2 then so on. You wont even notice it if you do it like that.
