Check the fuses first!

You would be better off getting a new motor, (providing you have checked the fuses first and they check out to be ok) many auto part stores have remanufactured replacements for the trade of your old one at a fraction of the cost of a new one, which is fine. You can get one from a junkyard, but then you dont know what you are getting. it may last a long time, and it may last only a week. If you want to stay away from a shop, hopefully you have a friend who is mechanically inclined to do this repair. Its not all that hard, and again, it isnt that easy.
