I don't think its my period and im not having cramps or anything. What could this be? Is it serious? Should i tell someone?

This is likely your pre-period discharge... it is completely normal. Also your first period blood may look a little brown it has been in there for a long time. Congratulations on becoming a woman! Do not be embarassed, talk to your mom or even a female teacher that you respect.

Sounds like your period is about to appear anytime now. In fact, that may have been a very light period. You don't always get cramps. No two people are the same. It's nothing to be embarrassed about. Is there an older female you can talk to? It's nothing to worry about. The time to be embarrassed is when you have your first, and very heavy period, when you're the only girl in a class of 30 boys...and the teacher was male !

That is your period. Mine was the same way for the first year or two, cramps come later once your period becomes regular. It won't come every month in the beginning so always wear a pantyliner (a very thin maxi pad) and carry a supply of Maxi Pads with you at all times. Also keep track of when you period begins. Once your regular your cycle will be 28 to 33 days long before you get your next period.

Go to the store and get Maxi pads, Always and Stay-free are good brands.

yes it's your period.

wash your underwear out and then launder them.
Mark this day on your calendar as the 1st day of this period.
It might last only a day, it might last 5 days.

Keep track by always marking the first day of your period - you will notice that it should return on a 28 or so day cycle, but it could be anywhere from 20 - 30 days.
Tell your mom
And ask her to take you shopping to get some stuff if she doesn't have any in the house.

This may be the start of your period. You should at least tell your mother, she's the one who's gonna have to go to the store to buy your pads. There's no need to be ashamed in front of her. She out of all people should understand. Just b/c you're not cramping doesn't mean its not your period. I never cramp.

You should tell someone! Most likely it is your period. Not everyone gets cramps when they have a period. Only a few of us lucky ones! lol Just let someone you trust know and get the proper help!

Chances are, it is the beginning of your period. Because it's your first time, your cycle will be irregular. You may not have as much tissue in your body to get rid of. Because of this, it may take longer for it to exit your body. And when blood gets old it turns brownish. Talk to your mom, or another trusted adult. Or better yet, call your doctor. You are probably perfectly normal, and are entering the blessed stage of womanhood.

it's the start of your period,
Before my first i had this brown discharge that almost looked like i pooed my pants!
after a day though it turned to normal red colored blood.
Tell your mom and she will get you some pads I would suggest waiting until you re second period to start wearing tampons because your flow probably won't be as heavy on your first time.
