The name Rachelle, Lucy, Maddia Ember or Sally

Forget Maddia Ember. Too complicated for either a child or a character. However, Ember is a good name for a main character.

Lucy is a good supporting character name. So is Sally.

Rachel is a good main character name, but the tongue trips over Rachelle. Too many people won't know how to pronounce it.

The only place I would use Maddia Ember is when her mother shows up and she is ticked "Maddia Ember, where have you been?"

Hmmm. You could have certain characters show up from her past who insist on calling her Maddy and she snaps at them "I'm Ember, dammit!"

Depends on what you're using it for.

Rachelle - spelled that way - seems like someone who would be "popular" or "foreign" -- different

Lucy - could be happy-go-lucky, friendly, girl-next-door, sorta sporty

Maddia Ember - Hmmm... this is different. Could be a character in a fantasy story. Or maybe a mysterious new girl in town?

Sally - Similar to Lucy, girl-next-door, nice person, a friend

None of them is 'better' than the others, it's completely a matter of personal opinion. 'Maddia Ember' is not a name I would saddle a child with if I wanted her to grow up well-adjusted and happy.
