I'm pro choice and the simple reason is this: being pro choice leaves room for people NOT to have an abortion if they think it is morally wrong. being pro-life does not give women the same opportunity to do what they think is morally right. a fetus is NOT a baby until a certain point in the pregnancy, and while I believe abortion should NEVER be used as birth control there are definitely circumstances (many, and we can't pretend to know what each woman's personal circumstances are) that make having the child just as wrong as having an early-term abortion. I respect anyone who is pro life. I would not have an abortion myself. However, I do not want anyone else - most especially my government! - telling me or any other woman what is morally wrong or right for her to do with her body and her life. Women are brilliant and strong and capable enough to make that decision for themselves.

I am Pro-Choice, and I was raised in a Christian life style and when I was a kid I would of told you I was Pro-Life, but I don't feel that way anymore. I don't think its right to take a woman's choice away from her, I'm not saying abortion should be a quick-fix, but its a personal decision, one that you will live with the rest of your life. I also believe that if someone has an abortion it should be done before 12 weeks-when it is an embryo-not a fetus. Adoption isn't an option for everyone, props to those of you who can do that, but that is way too hard for some people. I'm not saying I, personally, agree with abortion, but I do agree with choice.

Pro-life, because every abortion kills a living human being, and killing innocent human being is wrong. It's really not complicated. By the time most women know they are pregnant (just 3 weeks after conception), their baby's heart is already beating. Virtually no abortions are committed before 6 weeks, at which point the baby has tiny fingers and recordable brain waves. At 8 weeks, the child is fully-formed, with all her organs functioning. She can suck her thumb, and if her palm is pricked, she will open her mouth and pull her hand away. The average age of an aborted baby in America is 10 weeks.

Every abortion involves TWO bodies, the baby’s and the mother’s. The baby has separate DNA, separate movements, and separate organs. He may even be a different sex and have a different blood type. Yes, babies in the womb are dependent on their mothers, just like babies outside the womb. Even a newborn will quickly die if left alone. That doesn’t mean anyone has the right to kill her.

PRO-CHOICE ALL THE WAY BABY!!! It isn't murder. At the stages in which you are allowed to have an abortion the baby wouldn't be able to live on it's own yet so therefore it is not a human being. The main reason people don't agree with abortion is because it is against the Christain religion, but (this is for the people in America) YOU LIVE IN AMERICA!!! We have tons of religions and everyone with different beliefs. If you think that abortion is wrong and it is murder than fine don't do it, but don't take that option away from other people. Also, people who think everyone who gets pregnant was irresponsible and immature... sometimes condoms break or birth control fails... it isn'T fair that someone should have to pay for a mistake when they tried to prevent it. ALSO, for a pregnant teen GIRL things are harder for the guy. She will go into the store and people (because people are people and don'T have lives) will think to themselves or talk to other people in their group about how she is a "slut" or "immoral." The guy, however, can still go anywhere without most people knowing that he also has a child on the way. What about married couple where the woman has already paid thousands of dollars to have her tubes tied? They obviously didn'T want anymore kids and they are a married couple who should be allowed to enjoy things that come in a marriage such as sex. Why should they be forced to have the child? What about people who have been raped? Should the woman really have to carry the child of someone who forced that upon her? Everyday would be a constant reminder of that horrible experience or experiences.

Pro-choice.
The fact that some states are making abortion more and more difficult to have will not prevent abortion, just mean more mothers will die trying to get abortions.
I am a christian and would not have one myself but that doesnt give me the right to stop other people. it is a very difficult thing to decide to have an abortion and it doesnt help if you have narrow minded uncaring people trying to stop you just because they feel they have a moral obligation. They should be spending their time helping those kids who are at risk of teenage pregnancy not condeming those its already happened to!

I'm prochoice because I believe that the decision to obtain an abortion should be made by a woman in congress with her partner, family, and God.

I don't believe that the government should tell anyone, let alone immune-vulnerable women, what medical procedures they are and are not allowed to undergo. I believe our doctor's should help us in making those decisions, not our elected representatives with little to no medical background.

An abortion saved my life and I'm not alone in that regard. Even though my life was at stake, the decision to obtain an abortion was free to be made by me (with advice and concerns from my husband and family).

With any discussion of choice, you inevitably get people who believe that qualifications should be attached to it. This woman can obtain an abortion because of "X" reason, but this woman can't, etc. However, women either have the fundamental right to obtain an abortion or they do not. And if we do not, then you need to realistically envision a world where that is true. You will have thousands of women (if not more) dying because something went tragically wrong with their pregnancies and you will also have hundreds of thousands of children entering the already overburdened foster and adoption agencies.

I am afraid that in this regard it really is all for one and one for all. You can't separate women on the basis of their reasons for obtaining an abortion without eventually sentencing women to die from an unviable pregnancy or other related health problems. The same right that gave me the chance to save my life from the ectopic pregnancy is the same right that gives some irresponsible women the right to obtain an abortion. The two cannot legally or logically be separated and rights cannot be applied differently to different people.

I know abortion is a hard decision and it's even worse when it's not what you want but what you have to have to survive. I'm very thankful that the option was available to me and others like me and pray that it continues to be. You never know who is going to experience a life threatening pregnancy until it happens. I never believed in the old saying of "someone you know may need a choice" until it was ME.

I am pro-choice. I believe it's up to the woman to decide. Only she knows what her life is at that present moment and IF it would be in the best interest of that child to be born into it. It's a tough decision and the woman will have to live with it all her life. Someone mentioned adoption, and that's a wonderful alternative, but some people couldn't live knowing their child is somewhere out there, so abortion is an easier choice. Like it or not, this is my opinion.

everyone is so quick to comment against abortions!! granted everyone is entitled to their own opinions but until you have been put in the situation then you didn't know what it is like and i think people are far too quick to judge plus people on here go on about how true Christians dint believe in abortions , well Christians r not supposed to judge people either.
iv had an abortion , its something i found as regrettable but necessary, at the end of the day accidents happen and why should a woman be stuck with an unwanted child because of that reason. i do not agree with people that use abortion as a form of contraception though, i just think everybody deserves a second chance in life and in a way I'm glad i taken that chance.

I WOULD BE CONSIDERED PRO-CHOICE, I BELIEVE IT IS THE MOTHERS DECISION TO MAKE. THERE ARE MANY INSTANCES WHEN ABORTION IS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY. I BELIEVE THE RELIGIOUS COMMUNITY SHOULD MIND THEIR OWN BUSINESS WHEN IT COMES TO AN ABORTION ISSUE. THE PEOPLE WHO OPPOSE IT CALL IT " MURDER " YET MANY, MANY, MANY, BABIES ARE DEAD AT BIRTH DUE TO SIMPLY BEING STRANGLED BY THE UMBILICAL CORD. DOES THIS MEAN THAT GOD IS A MURDERER ?????? OR ARE THE PRO-LIFERS BLAMING THE MOTHER OF MURDER ????? WHAT IF A MOTHER HAS SMALL CHILDREN WAITING AT HOME AND THE MEDICAL TEAM DECIDES IF THE MOTHER GIVES BIRTH IT COULD COST HER HER LIFE ! WHAT DO THE PRO-LIFERS SAY THEN ?? CAN YOU IMAGINE SMALL CHILDREN AT HOME AND THEY NEVER SEE THEIR MOTHER AGAIN ?? IF SOME OF THESE ANTI-ABORTION PEOPLE VISITED SOME OF THE INSTITUTIONS IN THIS NATION AND AROUND THE WORLD ILL SHOW THEM SOME SIGHTS THAT WILL MAKE THEM CRINGE . THERE ARE PEOPLE " PUT AWAY " FROM PUBLIC EXPOSURE BECAUSE THEY HAVE NO CAPACITY TO DRESS,EAT,WALK, SEE, HEAR, THINK, THEY ARE COMPOUNDED IN HEATED CEMENT BUILDINGS WITH FLOOR HEATED , WALLS HEATED, CEILINGS HEATED , THEY ARE NAKED, WITH NO BEDS BECAUSE THEY ARE LACKING INTELLIGENCE, TO CLEAN THEM A WARM WATER SPRAY IS SPRAYED ON THEM ETC ETC. TO WASH THE WASTE AWAY. PEOPLE ARE CATEGORIZED IN THESE PLACES AS TO SEVERITY ETC. ABORTION, WOULD HAVE BEEN A BLESSING. PEOPLE YELL AND SCREAM ABOUT ABORTION IS MURDER - - - - - -START SCREAMING AT YOUR GOD, MAYBE HE HAS SOME ANSWERS !!!!

Pro-Life. I don't understand why people get abortions. I do not agree with them at all, though there are certain circumstances were it would be fine like if a woman was raped or if the mother and/or child's life was endangered. But otherwise there is no reason whatsoever for an abortion. If you can open your legs you can take responsibility for what can come out of it. Abortion is NOT birth control. It is murder. I know some say it is not but it stops a beating heart and to me that is murder.
