I want something small for a small office/workspace, but also with optimal performance/memory, etc. Any advice, tips, opinions would be helpful.

We've bought a lot of Mini Macs and have no complaints so far. They seem to be a lot higher quality than the older iMacs. Windows works very well on them. I have no idea what "optimal" means.

Depends on if you have your mind and heart set on a MAC or a PC.
Both have Great Items with Small Physical Footprints.
The Optiplex range have a series of small Items that sit in a cradle behind them that take up next to no room.
The MAc range has 3 or 4 units that are basically a Screen with the working parts either built into the back of the Screen, the base, or are something like a MacBook Pro, high power, with small size, and can run all sorts of items in a wireless fashion
