As a general rule a wise person need not tell people that he/she is wise. We can tell by the way they talk. A wise person knows enough to talk in plain language when with people who are not as educated as they are. Why talk above someones head if it is not necessary?A Wise person knows this.

Who says it's not wise to appear wise? Wisdom does show in one's looks or appearance, but in one's action, knowing when & how to deal with different people & situations.
