I thought "ethnicity" was based on your ancestry and genealogy, and "race" referred to your skin color.

Yes, you are right. I thought so myself when I was writing the poll, I didn't know what would be the best title to put for it.

Yes..but many people have so many European ancestors of differing ethnicity's they just use white as a short example of combinations (like mutts) as I might use...
